There are a couple of developments happening around here that I thought might interest the few of you who read this blog on a regular basis.
Big News #1: CowCow.com found my blog post where I reviewed my PJ Masks hoodies and reached out to me to say thank you. And guess what! They offered me a special coupon code for my readers – for one week only, with the code “rocketmommy” you can get the kid’s hoodies for $29.99 with FREE SHIPPING. That’s a great deal, y’all – I think it’s even less than I paid for my own! If you were on the fence about trying one out, this might be the time to go for it. Just hurry, because that coupon code is only valid for a week! You can find the links to the hoodies here:
Big News #2: If you clicked through to read this post, then you probably noticed that the site just got a major facelift. When I first started this blog, I grabbed a cutesy theme from the many that WordPress had available and thought the sketchbook-like motif would fit my needs pretty well, even if it was maybe a little dated and silly. I do nearly everything for this blog – writing it AND reading it – on my iPad, and it wasn’t until a couple months ago that I actually looked at my own blog on my phone instead. Yikes. To all of my mobile readers, I apologize for making you suffer through that layout on a tiny screen! That, combined with the fact that it took FOREVER to load, made me start looking for a new theme that would be less cluttered, more streamlined, and smartphone-friendly. So….here we are! Do you like it? I’m happy with everything except that it REALLY likes to hyphenate words at the end of a line, and I’m not sure how to fix that just yet.
Big News #3: After a couple of people have expressed some quizzical disappointment that I don’t have an Instagram account, I finally gave up and got one. Yes, I am the last person on earth who didn’t have Instagram. I’m a late adopter and I hate change, what can I say? I have no idea how the hell it works yet, and there is a good chance that it will sit mostly ignored and unloved like my Twitter account, because I am getting old and cranky and I find any social media beyond Facebook to be sort of overwhelming and confusing, and I honestly don’t need yet another electronic time-hog distracting me from my day job of breaking up fights and making lunches no one will eat. But if you’re on Instagram, you should go ahead and follow me, since at least you know I won’t clog your feed up constantly. I’ll try to switch to sharing my random one-off pictures on there instead of just on my Facebook page. Plus, now I can #hashtagallthethings #yay #isthishowitworks? #ohgodIsuckatitalready
That’s it for now! Enjoy your weekend!
